Question: What should students know about you?
They should know that I truly care about each of them individually and want all of them to be successful. I will always do my best to help them.

Question: What should parents know about you?
They should know that I care about all of the students at Adams Elementary. They should know that they can contact me at school or at home if they have concerns. I don’t want any of the students to fret or worry about something that happened at school. I will always do my best to make decisions based on what I believe is best for the child.

Question: Did you always want to be a principal?
I always wanted to be a teacher – from the time that I was in second grade. I did not think of being a principal until I had taught for several years. I have been an administrator in the Carroll Community School District for 14 years – 10 years as principal at Adams Elementary.

Question: What do you like best about Adams Elementary School?
I love working with fourth and fifth grade students. They want to learn and strive to do their best each and every day. (We also have a lot of fun at AES.) The teachers and support staff at Adams Elementary are caring people who really want to help students be successful. I also enjoy working with the parents of our students. Without parental support, our job would be extremely difficult.

Question: What message do you have for parents?
Encourage your child to read. I tell the students repeatedly, “The only way to become a better reader is to read.” Students should read each and every day. Each student is provided an agenda at the beginning of the year. Parents should check it daily and to see if their child is completing his or her homework.

Question: What is your favorite food?
Popcorn!!! When I was growing up, we had popcorn every Saturday night. I could eat popcorn every day now. I love popcorn!
